South Korean Pastor Tends Unwanted Flock
Coming to movie theaters nationwide March 3, 4 and 5, The Drop Box is a powerful new documentary from Pine Creek Entertainment in association with Focus on the Family and Kindred Image. The film follows South Korean pastor Lee Jong-rak and his wife as they welcome in children with physical, emotional, and mental challenges—children that would otherwise be abandoned on the streets. Their sacrificial efforts to come alongside the most helpless and vulnerable members of society is a moving picture of the Gospel—and the ultimate sacrifice Christ made in order for us to become members of God’s family.
Currently, there are more than 150 million orphans worldwide. The Drop Box raises awareness of this issue by telling the story of one small group of Christ-followers, in one corner of the world, who have sacrificed everything in order to care for the orphans in their midst. Their story is the embodiment of James 1:27—“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
