“We Will Run” -Gungor
Logged back into my FB prematurely but was convicted to finish off this last day strong.
Was, however, logged in long enough to catch this gem on my News Feed (posted by a guy I met at the LINK concert).
First half is good, but oh my goodness the second half is EPIC. I was reading something while listening, but had to stop just to listen.
Amazing. Kind of Future of Forestry-y.
From the Gungor website:
“If leading worship is just about bringing a group of people into a room so we can get goosebumps and sing songs together, there’s not much value in that. But if leading worship is a means to an end, that we leave this place as a different kind of people, as part of a new humanity that God wants to create – the people that are caring for the widows and orphans, that aren’t bound by the systems of this world but becoming free, becoming fully engaged in our world – then that matters.”
Beautiful. And so we must ask ourselves, why do we worship? Because it’s like Christian karaoke? Because we like the sound of our own voice? Or because of a greater awareness of who God is and a desire to lead ourselves and others into His presence?
“This album is an expression of hope that God will make beautiful things out of the dust in our lives, that God will somehow use us, use our obedience and love, our feeble human effort, and build Himself a kingdom.”
Use our dust, O Lord. Make it into beautiful things.
